FAQ
It’s not possible to determine the precise duration of a therapeutic process. Several factors influence this duration, such as an individual’s needs, set goals, personal involvement, personal history, the quality of the therapeutic alliance, and other factors. It’s important to note that psychotherapy is not a quick solution, but rather an ongoing process that requires sustained commitment and time.
Generally, regular interval sessions are recommended to ensure optimal assessment and interventions. Sessions may be more frequent at the beginning of the process and may become less frequent over time. The frequency of meetings can be adjusted based on budget constraints and the goals outlined in therapy.
Sexology can address a wide range of issues, such as sexual disorders, relational difficulties, intimacy concerns, communication problems, and much more. If you’re uncertain, it’s recommended to directly ask a professional to determine the specialization that best suits your needs.
During a sexology session, you’ll discuss your concerns and goals with the sexologist. Together, you’ll explore aspects of your sexual and relational life and work on strategies to improve your well-being or reach your goals.
Special Care Counselling is aimed at individuals facing adaptation challenges, whether related to a developmental disorder, intellectual disability, behavioral difficulties, or social issues. Through an individualized approach, specialized educators support the development of skills, autonomy, and social inclusion for individuals.
Psychoeducation is aimed at individuals who are experiencing adaptation difficulties or psychosocial challenges affecting their daily lives. By combining assessment, intervention, and support, psychoeducators help individuals better understand behaviors, develop coping strategies, and strengthen personal and social skills.
For the first session, take time to reflect on your concerns and goals. It’s important to acknowledge that sessions can require a lot of energy, so it might be helpful to allocate time to reflect before and after the session, before resuming your activities. At the end of the session, suggestions or topics for the next session will be discussed and can be explored in more detail during the following meeting.
Each process is unique and based on individual needs. Sessions generally focus on assessment, goal setting, and implementing interventions. However, a significant portion of the work takes place between sessions. Therapy isn’t about receiving directives or answers but actively collaborating with the professional. Your involvement is crucial to implement the suggestions, as your commitment directly impacts the outcomes.
After sending your consultation request, someone will get in touch to discuss the possibility of starting therapy or being placed on a waiting list. Once a time slot becomes available, the professional will contact you to propose an appointment. At that point, documents for opening your file will be shared with you, along with a secure link to a platform (such as Zoom). Payment will be made via bank transfer on the day of the appointment, and a receipt will be sent upon payment.
The professional will provide you with a receipt that you can submit to your insurance. It is your responsibility to verify whether your coverage includes the services offered. If not, you can include the fees in your tax return as medical expenses.
Sexology and psychotherapy services are tax-exempt.
